YouTube Introduces Opt-In for AI Training on Creator Content

From their YouTube Studio dashboard, creators can explicitly grant permission to 18 AI companies—like OpenAI, Meta, and Nvidia—to train their models on video content.

What You Need to Know 🔍

• New Controls: Creators can now select specific AI companies or a blanket “All third-party companies” to train on their videos.

• Default Protection: By default, third-party AI training is prohibited unless creators opt in, reinforcing YouTube's stance against unauthorized scraping.

• Google’s Role: Google will continue training its own AI models on YouTube content under its existing terms of service.
